Hey, guys welcome again to Every PC Solution Many of you asked me how to solve the memory management blue screen in windows 10/11 so I will give a detailed solution to this problem. Please read this article to solve this issue with a 100% guarantee I advise you to follow the guide step by step to treating this error quickly without losing any data and reinstalling new windows
What causes Memory management errors in windows 10?
Let's start with knowing the cause of the issue there are many reasons that might cause the issue and you don't even have thought of it so I will list the most common reasons then we will try to solve these step by step
Cleaning PC
Loose ram
You might have moved your PC from one place to another which causes the lock of the ram to open or get loose so reinstalling the ram is a good option do it and try to run the pc again
Changing/updating the Graphics card driver
Your Graphics Card driver might be corrupted or outdated that is the reason for the random bluescreen simply uninstall the old graphics driver and install the latest one
Loose cables
After some time the wires inside the pc might become loose and leave contact with ports so remove all cables from the pc including SATA and then reinstall all the cables and check if you are still facing the issue if yes then follow the detailed guide below
How to Fix Memory Management BSOD
As talked about before there are many reasons so I have divided this into two types
- Hardware
- Software
After following the initial solution to this problem if you are still facing the error then following the detailed guide will solve the problem the solution I am going to provide here is applicable to windows which face memory management often and randomly if your windows won't boot and always show blue screen then move to the software portion
Checking RAM
The first thing you need to check is RAM because faulty ram causes the issue more often to check whether it is caused by ram simply search memory diagnosis this is the default diagnosis tool for window run this program it asks for restarting the computer do it and let it scan memory for errors if no errors were found that means the RAM is okay. now move on next step
if you found errors then shut down the computer and remove all the rams except one and turn on and do the process again if no errors were found then that means the ram inside the computer working good now remove that and put other then do the process again and again until you found your faulty ram.
After you found that one just remove it and try to run the computer again and check for the error again (check at least one day) after you are satisfied the error did not come again you can either replace the ram or repair it
if after doing this still facing the issue then move to the next step
Checking Graphics Card
As GPU has also a memory that processes graphics so this error might become due to this so I would recommend you uninstall all the graphics drivers and remove them and run the PC the whole day to confirm whether it is caused by the GPU or not if yes then your Graphics Card has the issue however you can try these following steps to solve the problem caused by your GPU
- Clean the dust from the GPU PCB. and from the slot in which the GPU is installed
- Change the thermal paste and thermal pads (if your GPU has one).
- Clean the Carbon from the pins of the GPU.
follow these steps to solve problems with your GPU if after following the steps GPU still doing blue screen then you need to repair it or replace the GPU
Still, getting a blue screen after removing GPU? follow next step
Storage Drive
You might won't believe it, but storage drives also cause blue screens if that were damaged I recommend that if you have more than one hard drive then remove all of them and only use one hard in which the windows are installed I personally solved my issue by this step and now my PC is rocking so removing secondary hard drive might work for you.
After working on hardware if you still facing issues with windows then follow the next guide
Software:
In this guide, I am going to try some software fixes that might solve memory management BSOD there are many reasons even in software that cause the issue let's start with the most common one
Registry Error
The registry is the most important cause of blue screen if it gets corrupted then the pc might even not boot so let's do it first the easiest way to fix registry errors is to download and run the Ccleaner application that is available on the internet install it and inside it, you will find option scan and fix registry errors just click on it and follow the process after it you are ready to go
Windows update
You might have installed a new update on your PC after which you start getting memory management errors on your PC so I would recommend you to again check for updates and install all the available updates one of the updates contains fixes so after updating it might solve but in case if it is showing up to date even after checking it then uninstall updates that you downloaded recently.
To uninstall updates go to the control panel uninstall programs on the windows you found show installed updates click on it and you will see a list of recently installed updates uninstall a few of them that you think might be the cause of it and restart your pc.
Virus in Windows
Sometimes blue screen occurs if the PC is affected by the virus because the virus keeps running in the background and eating resources of the PC such as ram and CPU power so due to which ram can't handle the load and do blue screen if you are the victim of this then scan the whole PC through windows defender and then restart it
Some solutions that people have tried and worked for them
- The user reported that turning off Windows Defender also fix the blue screen issue
- some windows users claim that their windows missing PCI Memory Controller driver after installing this also solved their problem
