Most people face artifacts on their Graphics cards and don't know how to fix them and why GPU artifacts coming So in this article I am going to take a deep look at graphics issues and try to solve them as much as I can
why artifacts are showing on the monitor/How to fix it?
There are many Causing of graphics card artifacts such as
loose connection
Before going to a major issue let's start with an easy to an intermediate solution there is a chance that the output cable got loose and break the connection with the led/LCD so I recommend removing and replug video cable in the source and checking if it went or not if it still there move onto next step
Bad cable
If the connection was not loose then might be the cable gone mad and displaying artifacts on the screen so I recommend giving it a try and using another good cable to be on a safe side
Change GPU port
There might be an issue with the GPU Display output port so also use different ports and make sure that the port does not have any issue regarding this after you confirmed that follow the next steps
Reseat Graphics card
Sometimes GPU got loose and due to this, it does not get full electricity to work and starts showing artifacts so removing and reinstalling the graphics card also solves the issue so don't forget to give it a try.
Remove dust
The dust inside the PC can heavily damage the GPU and also there is a great chance of artifacting because dust breaks the connection and make the GPU become hotter due to which artifacts might come on screen so open up your CPU case and clean your GPU and I am sure 10 out of 8 have solved the problem after cleaning it.
Change Thermal Paste
The most common and ignored causes of artifacts are high temperatures changing the paste can reduce the heating so GPU performs out of its limits before moving on to other steps do it and give it a try
If after following the above steps if you still facing the same issue then there might be a hardware issue with your GPU that needs to be repaired in order to fix this
What type of issues are expected in GPU
you might have overclocked the GPU onto that limit which is dangerous and not recommended so if you have done it then this is one of the causes of that
VRAM
As you know the GPU also has a memory that is used to render and process graphics if the VRAM of the GPU is damaged somehow it causes different types of artifacts there is no such solution to fix this section of GPU rather than replacing it with new or one with working to a technician can do this job
buggy drivers
After you have identified that there is no issue with your GPU then there is another thing that needs to be solved is your GPU drivers to update the version of drivers or revert back if you have updated it already doing this might solve the artifacts
Underclocking the GPU
You can reduce artifacts or remove them temporarily because once it appears there is no permanent solution to this but underclocking GPU can solve it a little bit because by doing this you won't get the full performance out of your GPU you can underclock GPU by using some software such as MSI Afterburner.
Is it ok to use GPU that artifacts?
well it is recommended to use it because if you can then it might become permanent and won't be repairable as well
